Head and neck cancer includes all cancers that arise in the head and neck region. This would include the nasal cavity, sinuses, throat, mouth, salivary glands, lips, pharynx, larynx, and trachea.
Here at Hyde Park Cancer Center, we are able to treat head and neck tumors with RapidArc treatments as well as other options. The treatment plan for a specific patient depends on several different factors. The patient’s age and health, the type of tumor, the exact location and extension of the tumor, and the stage of the cancer all determine the course of treatment. Surgery, chemotherapy, and radiation therapy are used to treat head and neck cancers. Usually, a combination of at least two or three types of treatment is used. Your physicians will coordinate your treatment schedule.
